The AudioFire 8 16 I/O FireWire Audio Interface from Echo is a 16 input/16 output audio interface that offers the same high quality hardware and software found in other Echo Digital Audio products, but with the addition of a FireWire interface. The unit allows for recording 24-bit/96kHz audio with low latency monitoring on any Windows XP or Mac OS X computer (desktop or notebook) with a FireWire port.
Among the inputs, the AudioFire 8 offers 2 universal inputs with microphone preamps, phantom power, channel inserts and trim controls. The remaining 6 analog inputs are available on 1/4" TRS phone connectors, as are the 8 analog outputs. Additionally the unit provides 2 channels of S/PDIF I/O, ADAT I/O, MIDI I/O, word clock synchronization, 2 FireWire ports, and 12 channels of full duplex 24-bit/96kHz recording and playback.
